Constant C. Crohin, DMD, MMSc.

Periodontist (Gum Specialist)

Dr. Crohin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Molecular Biology and then matriculated to  Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD), and a Masters of Medical Sciences (MMSc.) degree. He then decided to continue at Harvard, pursuing further studies in the specialty of periodontics.

Dr. Crohin works part-time at Dr. Birnbaum’s office. He provides various non-surgical and surgical approaches to treating gum disease, as well as implant placements, bone and gum graft replacements. He is a strong advocate of improving patients’ oral health and actively educates in areas such as proper oral hygiene and smoking cessation. He teaches periodontology and dental implant placement as a part-time clinical faculty member at Harvard University. He is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology and the Harvard Odontological Society.

Chris Stack

Dental Hygienist

Chris has been a dental hygienist for 25 years.  She is a graduate of Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists and Northeastern University.  Chris is a highly skilled hygienist who takes pride in providing excellent dental care.  She firmly believes in educating her patients to achieve and maintain optimal dental health.  Chris has two daughters and enjoys spending time with them skiing, traveling and biking.

Idaliz “Yayi” Serrano

Office Manager

Yayi Serrano brings a sharp intellect, charm and smiling face to the front desk and administrative operations of our office. As a licensed dental assistant, Yayi's role in our office began working chairside with Dr Birnbaum for several years. As her keen mind continued to explore, absorb and master new information, her role expanded to include front desk tasks, evolving into her current role as Office manager, where she synthesizes the clinical and administrative operations with caring, sensitivity and unparalleled accuracy.

Yayi, who grew up in Boston, is bilingual, fluent in Spanish, as well as English. Yayi has taken our pride and commitment as a family operation to new and greater heights.

Maria Alvarez

Dental Assistant

Maria Alvarez came to Boston from the Dominican Republic at age 13. While loyal to her roots, Maria quickly became a proud Bostonian through and through - loving the sights, sounds and sports of this great city. She showed an equal, if not greater, aptitude for learning as she grasped, assimilated and applied new knowledge and skills, coming to our office as a medical assistant and phlebotomist and developing into the ultimate dental assistant , as knowledgeable about dentistry as she is caring for people. It is her stated goal "to make your experience at the dentist a positive one" and she joins Dr. Birnbaum in consistently putting forth their best effort to deliver on this pledge.

Gabriela Calzado

Dental Assistant

A native of Boston, Gaby Calzado's majored in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts. Her interest in and caring for people coupled with her can-do mechanical abilities to bring smiles and competence chairside for each patient visit.

Gaby enjoys the great outdoors and physical activity, especially when joined by her husband and vivacious two young boys, as well as her close-knit extended family. Fluent in Spanish, as well as English, Gaby is a people person who thoroughly enjoys being actively involved with her many friends and community.
