Having worked alongside his father during the early years of his private practice, Dr. Birnbaum’s patient philosophy was inspired by watching and mirroring his father’s dedication to exceptional dentistry. As an experienced and renowned dental technician, Dr. Birnbaum’s father instilled the importance of high quality, personalized dentistry in creating beautiful, healthy smiles. Our Technology
By utilizing the most advanced technology available, our office ensures that each patient achieves optimal results. Some of the state of the art technology we have implemented at our office includes, digital x-rays, intra-oral digital photography and soft tissue lasers.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems easier. Digital x-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
Intra-Oral Camera
The intra-oral camera broadcasts images for both the patient and doctor to see the images of your teeth are sent to a computer screen so that both the patient and doctor can review your oral health together. This technology allows you to watch a real-time movie of the inside of your mouth magnified beyond normal size on an adjacent computer monitor. This make it simple to see and understand what is happening in your mouth, and allows us to keep accurate records from one visit to the next.
CariVu Cavity Detection
At our Newton Centre dental practice, our mission is to provide tailored preventive care that meets the unique needs of each smile. In order to provide such highly personalized treatment solutions, our team utilizes the latest in dental technologies. Most recently, we’ve included the CariVu cavity detection device by DEXIS®. Non-invasive and radiation-free, this state-of-the-art device ushers in a new era of precise dental care by our experienced dentist in Newton.
Diagnodent
Diagnodent® is a safe fluorescent laser that detects hidden tooth decay accurately, quickly, and in its earliest stages. By using Diagnodent® All Smiles Design can accurately expose areas of tooth decay without scratching, probing or “opening up the tooth.” This provides a greater chance of identifying, treating and retaining a natural tooth without the need for expensive and time-consuming restorations.
